Summer at Black Hawk College

Summer is a busy time at Black Hawk College. We have many summer classes for full-time and part-time students, as well as community classes, College for Kids, youth classes and much more.

Summer College-Credit Classes

Pick up a class at BHC! Whether you are a current BHC student, home from college, or beginning your college career, summer is a great time to earn college credit.

  • Home from college? Credits transfer to your home institution.
  • First-time student? Get a jumpstart on your college career.
  • Affordable: Tuition starts at $149 a credit hour.
  • Two sessions: Summer classes start in June and July. Schedules available in March.

Youth Camp

Summer camp for 3rd-5th graders: Spend four days at our Youth Camp with activities like robotics, fashion, art and more.

Youth Classes

Youth classes: Learn the skills it takes to be a qualified babysitter or the proper manners in our dining etiquette class.

Aquatic Center

Learn to swim: Our Aquatic Center is a great place to cool off during open-swim hours or to take swim lessons.

College for Kids

College for Kids: One of the most popular programs in the Quad Cities is entering its fourth decade.

Volleyball Camp

  Pat Powers Volleyball Camp: Volleyball skills coach and Olympic gold medalist Pat Powers will conduct a volleyball camp at BHC.

ACT/SAT Online Prep Classes

Test preparation: Summer is a great time for high school students to take online classes for college prep tests.
