BHC golfers win NJCAA, PING awards

Black Hawk College golfer Dennis Reedy of Byron, IL, recently earned an NJCAA All-American Award, a PING All-American Award and a PING All-Region Award. BHC golfer Austin Jump of Geneseo, IL, also earned a PING All-Region Award.

Both received their awards at the 2017 NJCAA Division II Men’s Golf Championship at Longbow Golf Club in Mesa, AZ.

NJCAA All-American honors are presented to the top 26 finishers (plus ties) at the championship tournament. In a field of more than 130 competitors, Reedy tied for 17th place with a score of 296 (+12).

The five-man BHC team faced high-level competition in the championship, coming in 14th place. The entire BHC golf team recently concluded a very successful season by winning its 32nd Arrowhead Conference Championship with seven players earning All-Conference honors.

BHC golfers earned their national tournament bid by winning the Region IV Championship in Fall 2016, the 22nd regional title for Black Hawk College.
