More than a dozen BHC employees were awarded Black Hawk College Coins of Excellence at the Oct. 27, 2023, Board of Trustees meeting.
On Oct. 6, 2023, the college and State Rep. Travis Weaver’s office hosted Manufacturing Day. More than 30 students from Annawan, Galva and Kewanee high schools attended the first-time event at the BHC Welding and Skilled Trades Center in Kewanee. The day included a tour of Martin Engineering in Neponset followed by interactive sessions at the Welding and Skilled Trades Center.
Employees from several departments collaborated to put on the event.
The BHC Coins of Excellence program “was created to recognize individuals who have demonstrated a superior level of excellence in service, dedication, achievement, performance and/or accomplishment for or on behalf of Black Hawk College,” said Fritz Larsen, BHC board chair.
The employees receiving Coins of Excellence and their respective departments were:
