For half a year, Emmanuel Gutierrez of Moline spent roughly 24 hours a week doing research in the chemistry lab at the Quad-Cities Campus.

Since 1987, Professor Maria “Conchita” Lucas-Murillo has been part of the Black Hawk College team. Although she primarily teaches Spanish, she has also taught French and Italian and is fluent in German and English.

Black Hawk College kicked off its 80th anniversary with an ‘80s-themed celebration and introduction of the college’s new mascot.

Students and employees – Help name the new BHC mascot!

Back in May, Chris Snoddy, was appointed Vice President for Student Services of Black Hawk College (BHC). He officially began on July 1 and oversees student-facing departments that support enrollment, student success, engagement, retention and completion across the College. 

A new group is entering QC campus’ grounds and they are currently hosting tryouts. Come learn about the Spirit Squad and what opportunities they are offering to students.

Following a national search, Chris M. Snoddy has been appointed vice president for student services at Black Hawk College.

Black Hawk College employees Ewelina Bergert, Jennifer Marme-Lowery and James Noord recently received the Golden Apple Award from the college’s Phi Theta Kappa chapter at the Quad-Cities Campus.

Black Hawk College writers recently shared their stories in the multi‑genre BHC Storytellers’ Contest. The competition celebrated creativity across campuses and was open to all BHC students and employees.
