Nominating petitions and other election materials for the 2027 Black Hawk College Board of Trustees election may be picked up at either BHC campus beginning Tuesday, Aug. 25.

BHC at a Glance
Founded in 1946
Black Hawk College began as Moline Community College as part of Moline High School. In 1961, it became Black Hawk College, the first county-wide junior college in Illinois.

Plus five outreach centers serving nine counties in Western Illinois.

Offerings include Associate degrees (AA/AS, etc.), Associate in Applied Science degrees (AAS) and college credit certificates.

History
Black Hawk College began in 1946 as Moline Community College, created to provide greater access to higher education for local residents, including World War II veterans returning home to pursue a college education.
A New Face for the Braves
Black Hawk College is launching a new mascot costume and character as part of our 80th Anniversary celebration. The mascot will continue to represent the Black Hawk College Braves. Our college name and logos are not changing.
