BHC wins NACTA Judging Conference for 17th time
Congratulations to our East Campus students and coaches for winning the 2026 North American Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture (NACTA) Judging Conference Sweepstakes Award!
Students completing the Horse Science Technology AAS will find a demand for their skills and services in occupations relating to the raising, breeding and management of horses. Some of the specific jobs available include stable manager, groomer, salesperson in a tack store and public relations specialist. The Horse Science Technology Program offers classroom study and laboratory exercises coupled with supervised on-the-job work experience to prepare students for gainful employment in the horse industry. Graduates of this program are equipped with the practical knowledge and hands-on experience needed to succeed in various equine-related professions. By enrolling in this program, students can pave the way for a fulfilling career in the captivating world of horse science and technology.

Black Hawk College recently hosted the 8th Annual Welding Invitational at the college’s Welding and Skilled Trades Center in downtown Kewanee.
Agriculture has always been a huge part of Grace Angotti’s life, so having the opportunity to turn that passion into a career is something she doesn’t take for granted. Now she is a faculty member at the East Campus, where she teaches a variety of ag courses and coaches the Livestock Judging Team.
