Professional Licensure
Disclosure

Black Hawk College (BHC) programs are designed to meet licensure or certification requirements in Illinois. Completion of a BHC program may not satisfy requirements in other states. While BHC strives to keep licensure information current, requirements are subject to change. These can be requirements outside of the educational requirements for licensure or certification, including residency requirements, background checks, professional exams or professional experience.
Before enrolling in a BHC program, students who intend to pursue professional licensure or certification outside the State of Illinois are strongly encouraged to:
- Review the BHC licensure and certification information provided on this page and the specific academic program page.
- Contact the appropriate licensing agency in the state where they plan to seek licensure to obtain current requirements and guidance prior to beginning the program.
- Consult the Professional Licensure Directory maintained by NC-SARA for contact information related to licensure-granting agencies.
- Review program disclosures available through the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA) website, as certain programs leading to professional licensure require specific disclosures.
Students who relocate to another state while enrolled should be aware that doing so may affect their eligibility to continue in the program, meet state licensure requirements and/or receive financial aid.
