The Black Hawk College Gust E. Lundberg Library at the East Campus is the only community college library in Illinois to receive a $10,000 national grant specifically for small and rural libraries.

Makayla Craig of Galva is the new student trustee on the Black Hawk College Board of Trustees. She was seated at the April 23, 2026, meeting and will serve until April 2027.
