Black Hawk College alum Tiffany Chapman helped others for many years as a nurse. Before she passed away in January 2026, Chapman decided that she wanted to continue helping others even after she was gone.

Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) and Practical Nursing (LPN) applications are being accepted through Friday, Feb. 27 for their August 2026 program starts.

Upon completion of this course of study, the student may be eligible to take the examination to become a licensed practical nurse in Illinois.

Black Hawk College’s Practical Nursing Program application packet outlines the admission checklist and requirements for the August 2026 Practical Nursing Certificate, including TEAS testing, GPA criteria, prerequisite coursework and submission instructions. It also states that completing the program does not automatically guarantee eligibility to take the NCLEX-PN licensing examination. Applications are due Feb. 27, 2026.
