Maintaining CAAHEP accreditation ensures that Black Hawk College’s EMS program continues to meet rigorous academic and clinical training standards, preparing graduates for success in the field and eligibility for professional certification.

Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) are needed to serve communities large and small in and around the Quad Cities. Black Hawk College offers an eight-week EMT-Basic course in the summer at its Quad-Cities Campus in Moline.

This education prepares individuals for entry-level positions as emergency medical technicians and paramedics.

Many EMS services are now giving preference in hiring candidates with an associate degree in Emergency Medical Services.
