You can earn a Surgical Technology Associate in Applied Science degree in two years at Black Hawk College.
Applications for Fall 2026 are due Tuesday, March 31.
About the program
The Surgical Technology AAS Program is a career-oriented program that prepares students to function as part of a team in the operating room setting. This includes preparing instruments, setting up the operating room and assisting with the care of patients undergoing surgery. Classes are at the Quad-Cities Campus in the Health Sciences Center.
Application process
Surgical Technology applications will be accepted until March 31, 2026. The admission process will be completed by the end of May 2026. Applications submitted after March 31 will be reviewed to fill any remaining spots after the first set of applications is processed. As the number of new students is limited to the availability of clinical sites, not all applicants will be admitted.
