Softball player, jaelyn lambin, 2024-25

Congratulations to Black Hawk College Braves softball player Jaelyn Lambin for being named to the 2025 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II Softball All-America Second Team!

The Geneseo High School grad was one of only five Region 4 players and one of 16 players nationwide named to the Division II Softball All-America Second Team. All-America selections are made by the NJCAA Division II Softball Committee.

In 2024-25, Lambin was ranked nationally in Division II in hits (2nd with 109), runs (4th with 88) and total bases (8th with 178).

The outfielder was named All-Region First Team for Region 4, All-Conference Team for the Arrowhead Conference and the Most Valuable Player for the Arrowhead Conference.

During her two years with the Braves, she also has received academic accolades.

Lambin earned the 2024-25 and the 2023-24 Arrowhead Academic All-Conference/Academic Excellence Award for achieving a 3.0 GPA or higher during the respective school years. She was named to the Athletic Director’s Academic List for Fall 2023, Spring 2024, Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 for achieving a 3.25 GPA or higher each semester.

Also in 2023-24, she was named to the NJCAA All-Academic Third Team for having an overall GPA of 3.60-3.79.

Lambin and her teammates had an outstanding 2024-25 season on the field.

The Braves were 48-17 overall (.738) and competed in the World Series for the first time since 2014. They won Midwest District A, Region 4 and the Arrowhead Conference and were undefeated in the conference at 20-0. The Braves also were second in the nation in shutouts with 22.

The Braves were led by second-year coach Josh Keener, the 2025 Region 4 Coach of the Year.
