The Early Childhood Education program at Black Hawk College prepares students to work with children from birth through age five in child care or preschool settings. Offered through the Education, Sociology and Psychology Department at the Quad-Cities Campus in Moline, this program provides distance learning opportunities at the East Campus and online courses for flexibility. Approved as an entitled program by Gateways to Opportunity, completion of courses supports the attainment of various Gateways Credentials, including Levels 2, 3, and 4, and Infant-Toddler Credential Levels 2, 3, and 4. Pursuing Early Childhood Education at Black Hawk College sets a solid foundation for a rewarding career working with young children.
Students must successfully document and meet all health and background checks required by academic programs and/or courses.
Several Illinois universities guarantee transfer for BHC students who have completed the Early Childhood Education AAS program (ECACE).
