BHC artists win awards in 2025 Student Art Exhibition
Eight Black Hawk College students recently were honored for their artistic talent in the annual Student Art Exhibition at the Quad-Cities Campus.

The Art Technology Certificate program is a one-year immersive experience tailored for students and artists aiming to enhance their visual communication through a focus on technical skills and graphic design proficiency. Rooted in a solid foundation of drawing and design principles, the curriculum equips students with a diverse skill set and technical expertise in Adobe Creative Cloud software. Through hands-on experience with digital cameras, image manipulation, scanning and printing techniques, participants gain a comprehensive understanding of design processes. Graduates emerge ready for entry-level roles in graphic design, such as advertising, editorial design, production artist, photo retoucher and desktop publisher.

Black Hawk College student artist Zoe Petersen recently won a fan favorite award in the Figge Art Museum’s 2024 College Invitational.
A stark white wall in a music lab now provides visual inspiration for students to compose and produce their music. Mya Diabira, a 2024 Black Hawk College graduate, was commissioned to create an original mural to hang in the electronic music lab at the college’s Quad-Cities Campus.
