Welding

Get your welding training with an accredited college.  Explore our Production MIG Welding and Advanced Welding programs below:

Production MIG Welding (Class Schedules)
This is a 140-hour Production MIG Welding class with the first 20 hours dedicated to classroom where students cover gases, symbols, blueprints, math, and safety. The remaining class time involves hands-on experience conducted at the Rock Island Arsenal in a manufacturing environment.

  • While this is not a Deere class, the curriculum of instruction has been approved by Deere. Anyone completing this program is considered “trainable” as a Production MIG Welder and should be seriously considered for employment.
  • This program is completely instructor led not independent study.
  • Attendance is taken daily and recorded for time in/out.
  • A certificate of completion is earned from the college when participant attendance is 95% or better. A notation is added on your transcript as a permanent record of your learning as well.
  • Class cost is $1,550 for the Spring 2012 classes. Payment must be made at registration. A split pay plan is offered for a $25 processing fee (non-refundable).

Since this program is not college credit, it does not qualify for financial aid. For other funding options contact Stephanie Dixon at 309-796-5444 for IL Veterans Grant assistance. Iowa dislocated workers or lower income levels, contact Iowa @ Work at 563-336-3499.

Certificates of completion will be given to those who are active in participation and who are in attendance 95% of the time.

For information on the Production MIG Welding program, call the BTC Office at 309-796-5718.
