College and Career Readiness Grant
For dual-enrolled high school students.
Overview
The College & Career Readiness Grant provides tuition support for high school students who are dual enrolled in college courses with Black Hawk College by reducing financial barriers. This grant helps to make college coursework more accessible and extend opportunities to students who might not otherwise have the opportunity to participate in the dual credit program.
Eligibility
In order to apply for a College & Career Readiness Grant, you must:
- Reside within the Black Hawk College district.
- Be enrolled in an Illinois District #503 public high school and not yet graduated from high school.
- Be enrolled in at least one college course with Black Hawk College in either fall 2025 or spring 2026 semester.

1. Apply to Black Hawk College
To be eligible for a College & Career Readiness Grant, students must be enrolled at Black Hawk College and have completed the dual credit application.
About the Grant
The College & Career Readiness Grant is funded by a 2025-26 United Way Quad Cities Community Impact Grant. The focus on United Way partnership is to ensure everyone in the community has access to the resources they need. These scholarships ensure that motivated students can focus on their education without the added stress of financial concerns, paving the way for academic achievement and future success.
