Kathy Malcolm Executive Director for Planning & Institutional Effectiveness
Biography
Kathy Malcom leads the college’s institutional research, planning, accreditation and grant development efforts to support continuous improvement and student success. She oversees the implementation and evaluation of data-informed strategies that enhance the effectiveness of college-wide operations.
Malcom joined Black Hawk College in 2006 as a career advisor, later leading the Women’s Resource Program through successful grant writing and program development. She went on to manage federal grants supporting career and technical education and helped implement the college’s first data warehouse to better meet student learning needs.
She holds a master’s degree in social work administration from the University of Iowa and has completed advanced training in the Malcolm Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence. Malcom served for ten years on the Board of Examiners for the Illinois Performance Excellence program, reflecting her commitment to organizational quality and continuous improvement.
