OSHA
Participants will learn the major provisions of the Occupational Safety and Health in the Construction Industry. Primary topics include; the inspection and citation process, working and walking surfaces including ladders and scaffolds, hazardous materials, fall protection, electrical safety, material handling and more. Additional topics can be customized to meets the participants’ needs. OHSA’s 10 Hour Construction card will be issued upon completion of this class.
Participants will learn the major provisions of the Occupational Safety and Health Act. This course can be customized to meet the participants needs. OSHA’s 10 Hour General Industry card will be issued upon completion of this class.
This 30-hour class is intended to provide safety awareness training to individuals who are involved with construction or with supervising contract workers on their company site. Topics covered in this class include: hazardous communication, fall protection, electrical safety, stairways and ladders, working and walking surfaces, scaffolds, cranes, personal protective equipment, material handling, hand and power tools, excavations, inspections and citations. Site specific topics can be incorporated into this training.30 Hour OSHA General Industry Training
This course meets the requirements to maintain an individual’s 29 CFR 1910.120 certificate. The training can be customized to fulfill the 40 Hour Waste site, 24 Hour Emergency Response, 8 Hour Operations Level and Supervisor requirements. This course provides an annual refresher of the 24-hour Emergency Response Course, required under 29 CFR 1910.120 (q) and 8 CCR 5192. Course topics include coverage of new equipment, regulations, and reporting requirements. Emphasis is on problem-solving, field operations, safety decision-making, and incident logis
This course covers employers whose employees are engaged in emergency response no matter where it occurs if emergency response procedures, special personal protective equipment are needed, and the employees are required to plug, patch or otherwise contain the release of chemicals. This 24 hour course meets the requirement is OSHA’s 1910.120 section (q) of the HAZWOPER standard. This training includes scenarios and practice with PPE.
This 40 hour course is also known as the HAZWOPER standard and is required for clean-up operations by a government body whether Federal, state or local involving hazardous substances. This course meets the requirements of OSHA’s 29 CFR 1910.120 1926.65 and EPA’s CFR Part 311 involving clean-up operations. This course is also required by the State Fire Marshall for the installation or removal of underground storage tanks that contains or had contained hazardous materials. Call for more information to determine the need for this course.
The Department of Transportation requires training for employees receiving or shipping hazardous materials. This training includes 49 CFR hazardous materials table, packaging of materials, shipping papers and other documentation, and recognizing potential hazardous conditions when receiving packages. Participants are encouraged to bring list of products they ship or receive and samples of shipping papers. New addition: Homeland security training for drivers and facilities 49 CFR Part 172 (HM-232) Federal Resister Vol. 68 No. 57 page 14518. This DOT final rule requires HAZMAT employers to develop security plans by September 2003 and training on security plans by December 2003.
This is an introductory course is for participants just starting or have been assigned duties involving safety and health. Participants will learn the relationship between OSHA and other government agencies. In this slow paced course, you will learn to find and read various regulations and have knowledge of basic safety and health standards. You will leave with a better understanding and direction on how to develop a long lasting safety and health program.
Employees who are exposed or have the potential to be exposed to asbestos must be informed of the potential hazards associated with the presence of asbestos containing material in a building. This class covers topics such as permissible exposure limits, primary routes of exposure, exposure limits, determining factors in disease, and health effects of asbestos exposure.
You will learn the OSHA inspection process and how to be prepared for it; what is an opening conference, what is included in a walk through, what will happen in a closing conference and what will happen next? A hands-on photo exercise of violations will be discussed.
This program is for employers required to maintain OSHA’s Illness and Injury documentation. Forms 300, 301, 301A will be discussed. Other topics will include: required postings, training and other documentation issues.
This program is an extension of the OSHA 10 Hour courses. More in depth discussion on chemical inventories, selection of personal protective equipment, hearing conservation programs, ergonomics and review of industry specific OSHA regulations. Participants must have completed the OSHA 10 Hour General Industry or Construction course.
This course covers the OSHA permit required confined space regulations 29 CFR 1910.146. The difference between hazardous working spaces, confined space and permit required confined space will be defined. Requirements of a permit and the need for rescue services are included in this class.
This course is designed for employees whose work involves confined space entry. Instruction should lead to the understanding, knowledge, and skills necessary for the safe performance of the duties required for permit required confined space entry. Hands-on practice using appropriate equipment will be performed. Length of class will be determined by your needs.
This class is intended for employees who are on a confined space rescue team. Content of the course will be designed around the specific confined space and equipment of your company.
This combined course covers the content of 1910.146 Permit Required Confined Space and 1926.650 Excavations and Trenching. Emphasis will be placed on the identifying hazards and obtaining proper permits before working in these locations. Topics will include air monitoring, employee duties, soil types and mechanics, stability of shored and unshored slopes and walls of excavations, rescue and emergency services.
This 8-hour course is for individuals who respond to the release or potential release of hazardous substances with the intent of protecting nearby persons, property or the environment. These individuals will alert proper authorities and or contractors and will contain the release from a safe distance in a defensive mode only. This course meets the 29 CFR 1910.120 (q) operations level requirements. Call for more information to determine the need for this course.
This training consists of classroom instruction that covers the content of the 29 CFR 1910.178 OSHA standard: the types and characteristics of forklifts, pre–operation inspections, driving safety, stability and load handling. Driving practice follows classroom instruction. Students
receive a Certificate of Completion from the college. To receive the certificate, you must pass 80% on the written test and pass the performance driving test to operate the Fork Truck.
The presence of hazardous materials or toxic chemicals at an incident or other emergency situation adds a new dimension of risk to those handling and treating casualties. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) must protect their personnel on-site and en route to the hospital and other people with in the hospital, while providing the best care for the chemically contaminated patient. This course is intended to help emergency medical services plan for incidents that involve hazardous materials and improve their ability to respond to these incidents appropriately. This course will familiarize personnel with the concepts, terminology, and key considerations that affect the management of incidents of chemical contamination. Upon completion of this course, the participants will receive an eight (8) hour HAZWOPER Operations Level certificate and wallet card.

This course is designed for supervisors and managers with the responsibility to implement and maintain a company safety and health program. Participants will learn to read and understand OSHA’s 29 1910 Code of Regulations, obtain a quick overview of selected safety and health topics, and take part in hands-on training and communication exercise.
This course will focus on OHSA’s regulations and how they apply to machine operators. Controlling hazardous energy (lock-out/tag-out), electrical safety and machine guarding are the primary topics. Developing standard operating procedures and labeling and markings will also be included.
This course was developed to meet the needs of worker safety at various types of distribution centers. Topics included will be: emergency alarm and evacuation routes, consumer commodity chemical products, company specific chemical products, lifting and other ergonomic safety, slip, trips and falls, basic distribution center machine safety and the importance of reporting all incidents and injuries. This course can be customized to meet the needs and types of the distribution center. Powered industrial truck training consisting of forklifts and powered pallet trucks specific to distribution centers can also be included in this course.
OSHA requires the use of the Incident Command System when engaged in activities meeting the requirements of 29 CFR 1910.120 HAZWOPER standard. This class focuses on the Incident Command Post and the key decision-making requirements when in an emergency response mode. A simulated chemical release is part of the class.

After the training session, a facility audit, based on the training topics, is conducted by all attendees with verbal discussions on any problems or violations. Many companies either have outdated safety and health manuals or none at all. This course will assist you in developing and/or upgrading a safety and health manual with the basic topics. You will learn how to start wording policies that will be specific toward your company. Methods on conducting a chemical inventory, obtaining/managing material safety data sheets, employee training requirements and how to conducts on-site audits are included in this program. *No time to write your safety manual? Employee participation is the key to a proactive safety and health program. Participants will learn the value of team building, safety program development, planning and conducting meetings, and communication. Accident investigation procedures can be added to this course. (add 2 hours)
Our safety consultant will prepare a manual that describes the required procedures for safely locking out all company machinery.
On site consultation is available to assist developing and/or maintaining an effective safety and health program. This consultation service can include a site audit, a specific machine or area, or a complete training program delivered in phases that can be conducted over time.
