The American Society for Quality (ASQ) offers exams for individuals who are passionate about improvement and are interested in advancing their career to the next level of excellence.  The organization offers close to 20 certifications.

Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)

Instructor: D. Schultz, CQA, CQE

Why become a Certified Quality Engineer? As a CQE, you will have achieved a recognized mastery in the quality discipline. The CQE is a professional who understands the principles of product and service quality evaluation and control. Learn quality management and leadership, develop the quality management system (QMS), design of products, processes and services, learn critical skills required to implement effective product and process control, master the quantitative tools and techniques that drive continuous improvement, understand the ways to summarize data, and be fluent in risk management.

The materials are included in the cost of the course.

Note: completion of a course on statistics prior to this class would be beneficial but is not required. CEU 3.6

Certified Quality Auditor (CQA)

Instructor: D. Schultz, CQA, CQE

Why become a Certified Quality Auditor? As a CQA, you will understand the standards and principles of quality and the auditing techniques of examining, questioning, evaluating and reporting to determine a quality system’s adequacy and deficiencies. Understand the various types of quality audits, improve communication skills by learning techniques for presenting, interviewing, and tactical conflict resolution, analyze audit results and customer satisfaction to implement changes that resolve internal issues and improve processes, learn how to utilize quality tools, and identify methods for estimating, mitigating and controlling risk. Certified Quality Improvement Associate  (CQIA)

Instructor: D. Schultz, CQA, CQE

Why become a Certified Quality Improvement Associate? As a CQIA, you will have a basic knowledge of quality tools and their uses and be involved in quality improvement projects, but will not necessarily come from a traditional quality area. Identify and describe the key components of total quality management (TQM), know the role of process management in TQM and the interrelationship of processes and systems, recognize how basic quality tools can be used to help improve processes, understand the importance of the customer support relationship and team roles and responsibilities. The materials are included in the cost of the course. CEU 1.8
