National Transfer Student Week

Black Hawk College is celebrating National Transfer Student Week Oct. 18-22.

Each year, approximately 600 students begin their journey toward bachelor’s degrees by attending Black Hawk College to complete an associate degree or take selected courses toward their major. Working with BHC student services staff and faculty, students can explore careers and interests, gain leadership and social skills and develop a strong GPA for competitive majors and scholarships.

When students have access to the information, tools, services and personal support they need to plan their transition in advance, transferring between institutions can be relatively seamless. Transfer students often perform at or above similarly matched students who started at a university as freshmen.

Black Hawk College collaborates with more than 35 four-year institutions to offer students a positive transfer experience. Black Hawk College continuously connects students with on-campus and virtual opportunities to meet transfer school representatives and choose a best-fit transfer school.

Black Hawk College welcomes students at all stages of their transfer. Classes begin seven times a year. Prospective BHC students can apply online for free Oct. 24-31.
