Black Hawk College offers veterans and active-duty military students and employees a place to relax, network, study and find resources to help them transition into college and careers.
The BHC Veterans Resource Center at the Quad-Cities Campus is open Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Building 4, Room 117, but can be open other hours depending on demand or need.
Thanks to a BHC Foundation grant, it now also offers many art supplies to allow veterans and military students to express themselves creatively.
The center has a break room with almost all the comforts of home – a quiet room, space for studying, having lunch or coffee with others, meetings and recreation, and an office staffed with veterans and a coordinator to answer questions and make referrals.
For more information or a personal tour, contact Marceia Duhm, coordinator of career and veterans services, at 309-796-5838 or 309-796-5191 or email@example.com.
Various Veteran Benefits
Veterans and their families should talk with the Veterans Resource Center about possible educational benefits. Benefits are available through the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC).
