Why IT Support Technician

The Computer Information Technology IT Support Technician Certificate equips students for roles in computer support, maintenance, and repair of personal computers and peripherals. This program fosters technicians capable of handling hardware maintenance, application support, and help-desk responsibilities. Graduates will master software and hardware installation, PC component repair/replacement, basic network setup, peripheral support, and routine maintenance. Upon completion, students will sit for the CompTIA A+ Certified Technician exam. While prior hardware and software experience is beneficial, it is not mandatory; basic computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, web applications, and file management should already be established.

Students who begin this program to continue their education may do so with the IT Support Technician Track AAS degree.
