Why Gas Metal Arc Welding

Students completing the Gas Metal Arc Welding certificate program will showcase expertise in gas metal arc welding techniques, such as spray transfer and short arc transfer, along with mastering cored wires. Throughout the course, students will delve into machine set-up, gun handling, weld size, gun angle, wire feed, and gas quantities, all while prioritizing safety procedures. Practical experience will be gained in flat, horizontal, and vertical positions, exploring diverse joint designs, fillet sizes, and material thickness.

Additional Skills

  • Welding with consumable wire electrodes and three methods of metal transfer.
  • How to properly set up a machine and weld in various positions with ferrous and nonferrous material.
  • How to regulate oxygen and acetylene for the oxyacetylene welding process.
