The Communication and Fine Arts Department at the Quad-Cities Campus offers students an opportunity to develop a strong liberal arts background with an emphasis in verbal and written communication, the field of music performance, therapy or the music industry, or learn real world skills in a creative, hands-on environment while developing a professional art portfolio. Many BHC alumni also have gone on to teach art or music in the community at the middle or high school level.

The department offers a number of programs such as the new one-year Music Industry Certificate Program to help get your foot in the door of the music-related business. We have dedicated labs where you can collaborate with faculty members in electronic music, ceramics, website design or graphic design. Some programs offer multiple tracks or options to the field of study. Options allow you to focus on a specific area that more appropriately suits your individual interest or employment needs.
