If you need an item that’s not available at Black Hawk College, we encourage you to use the library’s interlibrary loan services.
I-Share — If there is no copy available at the Black Hawk College Library, search in other I-Share libraries:
On the library home page, click on Search the Catalog.
Click on the Local Catalog Only drop-down, and choose All I-Share Libraries and search.
Click Location & Availability to make sure there is a circulating copy.
Click Request Item to request a copy.
You will be prompted to log in. Enter your I-Share username and password and click enter.
To create an I-Share account, click on Create New Account. Enter your name and your email address. Enter your myBlackHawk username in the username field and select a password that is easy to remember.
In the Library Account Information section, enter the barcode from your BHC Library card as the Borrower ID, use the last name on your library card application, and select Black Hawk College from the drop down.
After you have logged in, use the drop down box next to Choose pick-up library to select Black Hawk College. The book will be sent to the BHC Library, and you will receive an email when it has arrived.
If the item is not available via I-Share, contact the Library Research Desk in-person, by phone at 309-796-5147 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org. A librarian will locate another library willing to loan you the item.
There is no charge for materials interlibrary loaned within Illinois. You will be charged $1 per item for out-of-state interlibrary loans.
