If you need an item that’s not available at Black Hawk College, we encourage you to use the library’s interlibrary loan services.
I-Share — If there is no copy available at the Black Hawk College Library, search in other I-Share libraries:
Click on the Local Catalog Only drop-down, and choose All I-Share Libraries and search.
Click on the title to check location and availability in the book record.
Click Request from I-Share Libraries, you will be prompted to log-in.
- Enter the barcode number from your BHC Library card (no spaces).
- Enter the last name on your library card application.
- Click login, you will return to the book record page
Click Request from I-Share Libraries to request a copy.
- In the Request This Item pop-up choose your pick-up location.
- Click Place Request
The book will be sent to the BHC library and you will receive an email when it has arrived.
If the item is not available in I-Share, contact the Library Research Desk in-person, by phone at (309) 796-5147, or email at firstname.lastname@example.org. A librarian will locate another library willing to loan you the item.
There is no charge for materials interlibrary loaned within Illinois. Patrons will be charged $1 per item for out-of-state interlibrary loans.
