BHC celebrates Honors Program students

Black Hawk College Honors Program students recently were invited to a banquet with college president Tim Wynes, program faculty members Andrew Mansheim and Dr. Emily Lehman, and East Campus faculty members Dr. Blake Bloomberg, Aaron Callahan, Drew Cotton and Isaac Stewart.

The BHC Honors Program includes students from both campuses, and eight East Campus students were able to attend the banquet.

The program consists of two honors courses – HONR 200 Honors Seminar and HONR 205 Independent Study – and a service project.

To complete an Honors Service Project, students must volunteer at least 10 hours for a non-profit organization. After they have completed their volunteer work, students write a reflection paper on their overall involvement.
