Soil Judging Team takes 1st place in Wisconsin

8 college students standing in soils pitCongratulations to the Black Hawk College Soil Judging Team for winning 1st place at the American Society of Agronomy (ASA) 2019 Region 3 Collegiate Soils Contest in Stevens Point, WI.

BHC team members competed against students from two-year schools Eastern Oklahoma State College and Vincennes University.

Six students also placed in the Top 10 individually.

They are:

  • Makenzie Snyder– 1st
  • Mitchell Shimmin – 2nd
  • Sophia Short – 3rd
  • Kyle Hunter – 4th
  • Brendan Shaw– 5th
  • Drake McDonough – 10th (tie)
