BHC golf team wins fourth straight Region IV Championship

5 golfers standing & smiling at cameraCongratulations to the Black Hawk College men’s golf team for winning the 2019 NJCAA Region IV Championship! This marks the fourth straight year the team has claimed this title and the 15th in the past 21 years.

The Braves’ team score was 959. The next closest team was 976.

Individual golfers’ results were:

  • 2nd Place – Gabe Beardsley (Alleman High School, Rock Island, IL)
  • 7th Place – Mick Haverland (Geneseo H.S., Geneseo, IL)
  • 8th Place – Peyton Perez (Richwoods H.S., Peoria, IL)
  • 14th Place – Ethan Earl (Sherrard H.S., Sherrard, IL)

The fifth member of the team is Gannon Haskins (Riverdale H.S., Port Byron, IL).

The team will compete May 19-22 at the 2020 NJCAA Division II Men’s Golf Championship in Joplin, MO.

The team is coached by Butch Haverland with assistant coaches Mark Grchan, Steve Landauer and Wes Llewellyn.
