Gelaude receives lifetime achievement award

smiling woman in yellow shirt holding triangular acrylic awardCongratulations to Julie Gelaude, director of the Black Hawk College Business Training Center, for receiving the Joan Simon Lifetime Achievement Award from the Illinois Community College Training Resource and Information Network (weTRaIN).

The award honors an outstanding weTRaIN member who has excelled in her/his contributions to workforce training and development.

“Julie approaches each new opportunity to provide training with enthusiasm and commitment,” said Glenda Nicke, dean of adult and continuing education.

“I congratulate her on receiving this richly deserved recognition of her work.”

As the largest training provider in the state, weTRaIN serves nearly 2,000 firms each year. The network consists of more than 150 training professionals at 48 community colleges across Illinois.

Gelaude received the award at the 2018 weTRaIN Fall Conference in Springfield.
