BHC celebrates volleyball coach Mary Davis, softball GPA

Mary Davis – NJCAA Hall of Fame inductee

Marci Henry – NJCAA 1st Vice President for Women and President of the National Alliance of Two-Year College Athletic Administrators

Unveiling new banner that will honor the late Mary Davis, our first NJCAA Hall of Famer.

  • Head volleyball coach Mary Davis attended Black Hawk College and competed as a volleyball player from 1983-85 (two years).
  • She was an assistant coach for the Braves from 1986-90 (five years) before taking over the head coaching position in 1991 (25 years).
  • As of 2015, Mary was listed as one of the top 10 winningest active coaches in the nation.
  • Mary either played or coached for Black Hawk College for 32 years.
  • She finished her last season (Fall 2016) with a 510-470 career record.
