QC Foundation, USO celebrating military, veterans with inaugural gala

Join the Black Hawk College Quad-Cities Foundation for its premier Telling Our Stories Gala at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17 at The University Club in downtown Moline.

The evening will celebrate community partnerships with the Rock Island Chapter of the USO of Illinois and the Black Hawk College Veterans Resource Center. The USO and Black Hawk College have provided support for area veterans, military members and their families since the organizations were established in the 1940s.

Guests will be transported back in time with swing-style musical entertainment and 1940s-era décor and attire.

The program will include keynote speaker author and Army veteran William (Bill) Albracht, a wine pull fundraiser and a silent auction.

Cost is $75 for an individual ticket and $550 for a table of eight.

Proceeds will benefit the USO of Illinois, the Black Hawk College Veterans Resource Center, and the Black Hawk Excellence Fund, the BHC Foundation’s endowed fund established through Moline Foundation’s Community Endowment Challenge.
