BHC Sophomore Livestock Judging Team wins 3rd place in Tulsa

Congratulations to the Black Hawk College Sophomore Livestock Judging Team for winning 3rd Place overall at the Tulsa State Fair Intercollegiate Livestock Judging Contest in Tulsa, OK.

The team members were Kiley Elder of Pleasantville, IA; Hannah Lauffenburger of Queen Creek, AZ; Jordyn Sills of Poneto, IN; Kip Wallace of Emerald, WI; and Luke Wechter of Ligonier, IN.

The team also came in 2nd Place in cattle, 3rd Place in swine and 4th Place in reasons.

Awards were presented to the top individuals and top teams in cattle, sheep, swine, reasons and overall competition in the junior college sophomore contest.

Competing individually were sophomores Hunter Langholff of Wisconsin Rapids, WI; Blake Roselieb of Annawan, IL; and Lucas Stumpf of Columbia, IL.

Here’s how Black Hawk College students fared individually:

  • Hannah Lauffenburger – 4th Place in reasons, 5th Place in swine and 9th Place overall
  • Luke Wechter – 4th Place in swine
  • Jordyn Sills – 7th Place in cattle
  • Blake Roselieb – 8th Place in swine
  • Lucas Stumpf – 8th Place in cattle

The team is coached by Dan Hoge and Tyler Gradert and is located at the Black Hawk College East Campus near Kewanee, IL.
