BHC Sophomore Livestock Judging Team wins 2nd place at AKSARBEN

Congratulations to the Black Hawk College Sophomore Livestock Judging Team for winning 2nd Place Team Overall at the 2016 AKSARBEN Junior College Livestock Judging Contest in Omaha, NE.

More than 180 students competed as individuals with Black Hawk College’s Hannah Laffenburger taking 3rd Place and Jordyn Sills taking 5th Place.

Schools are allowed to enter one sophomore and one freshman team with five individuals per team. Black Hawk College sophomore team members who competed were Kiley Elder of Pleasantville, IA; Hannah Laffenburger of Queen Creek, AZ; Jordyn Sills of Poneto, IN; Kip Wallace of Emerald, WI; and Luke Wechter of Ligonier, IN.

The team is coached by Dan Hoge and Tyler Gradert and is located at the Black Hawk College East Campus near Kewanee, IL.
