U.S. Rep. Cheri Bustos recently presented Black Hawk College history/political science professor Joan Eastlund with a certificate honoring her as she retires after 37 years at the college.
Bustos read the tribute into the Congressional record on April 28, 2016.
“I’m deeply humbled and honored,” Eastlund said. “It is the students who inspire me. It has been my honor for 37 years to instruct such fine young people.”
Bustos aide Lucie VanHecke is a Black Hawk College graduate and former student of Eastlund.
“Professor Eastlund was a fantastic instructor and a great role model for me,” VanHecke said.
