BHC Equestrian Team takes 3rd in IHSA Nationals

Congratulations to the Black Hawk College East Campus Equestrian Team for finishing in third place at the Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association (IHSA) Nationals!

In the Western Standings, the Black Hawk College equestrians competed against four-year schools from Georgia, Kentucky, Nebraska, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon and Texas. The BHC team tied for third place, earning only three fewer points than the two teams that tied to share first place.

The BHC students’ individual results are as follows:

Alex Miller of Warsaw, IN

  • 4th in American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) High Point Western Rider
  • 2nd in Team Open Reining
  • 7th in Team Open Western Horsemanship
  • 4th in Individual Open Western Horsemanship
  • 7th in Individual Open Reining

Kaitlyn Frizzell of Lincoln, IL

  • 3rd in Individual Beginner Western Horsemanship

Allison Gossett of Charleston, IL

  • 3rd in Team Intermediate Western Horsemanship

Haley McWhorter of Minooka, IL

  • 3rd in Team Novice Western Horsemanship
  • 4th in Individual Intermediate Western Horsemanship

Jessie Rasmussen of Summit Lake, WI

  • 4th in Team Advanced Western Horsemanship

Lindsey Sunderlage of Kingston, IL

  • 7th in Team Beginner Western Horsemanship
