Black Hawk College veterinary sciences programs are taught by veterinarians, certified veterinary technicians and specialists in the field. There also are opportunities to work with animals on-site and gain clinical experience.

PROGRAMS
Veterinary Assisting Certificate – One-year program, fall start (no separate application process required)
The Veterinary Assisting Certificate Program prepares students to become a member of the veterinary health care team, aiding the veterinarian and veterinary technician in performing daily tasks.
Veterinary Technology AAS – Two-year program, fall start (separate application required)
The Associate in Applied Science in Veterinary Technology will prepare students to perform veterinary procedures under the supervision of a veterinarian. Veterinary technicians are primarily employed in veterinary clinics and hospitals.
