In keeping with the tradition of being able to walk from building to building on the Quad-Cities Campus without going outside, the two buildings are joined with a connecting link.

The Sustainable Technologies Building features two high-tech, 40-seat classrooms with a retractable wall that can create an 80-seat classroom. The building also has a 24-seat classroom, a materials science lab, a sustainable technologies lab and the college’s new data center.

The college and the design team joined with MidAmerican Energy and the Weidt Group to explore and evaluate a number of alternative lighting and mechanical systems with the goal of selecting design strategies that demonstrate the highest value of energy savings.
