TRiO Student Support Services

TRiO StaffTRiO Student Support Services (SSS) makes the transition smoother by offering one-on-one advising and career counseling as well as workshops on managing your time efficiently, getting along with instructors, financing your education, planning your four-year degree and beyond, and many other topics. All services are free to eligible students.

Eligible students include first-generation college students (neither parent earned a four-year degree, and you haven’t received a two-year or four-year degree) and income-eligible students (as determined by federal guidelines), as well as students with a documented disability.

Through a combination of the U.S. Department of Education grant for TRiO Student Support Services, the State of Illinois Carl Perkins grant and college funds, services are provided for FREE to all students enrolled at Black Hawk College.
