Borrowing Privileges
A current East Campus library card is required to borrow materials from the library and use materials in the reserve collection. Current East Campus students, faculty and staff may apply for a library card at no charge at the Circulation Desk with a photo ID. Please feel free to ask us about other ways to get the resources you need.

Loan Periods

  • Books from the general collection = 3 weeks; 10 books, limit of 3 items in a subject area
  • DVDs = 3 days, limit of 3. Renewals are permitted if not requested by another patron.
  • Reference materials may be available for 24 or 48 hour loan with permission from the librarian.
  • Reserve items = 3 hour, library use only, or 24 hour overnight
    (determined by the faculty member teaching the course)

Returning Items
Materials can be returned at the Circulation Desk.

Late Fees and Payment of Damaged or Lost Items

  • Overdue library books do not usually accrue fines.
  • Overdue DVDs are $1 per day up to $20.
  • Items borrowed from other libraries may accrue fines determined by the lending library.
  • Lost items = replacement cost + $10 processing fee.
  • Damaged items = assessed according to extent of damage.
  • Lost cards: The patron is responsible for all materials checked out to his/her library card. A lost card should be reported immediately. Cost to replace a lost card is $1.

Fines and bills for lost or unreturned items will be attached to the student account at the end of the semester. A library card with delinquent fines or bills cannot be used to borrow materials from the East Campus Library or other libraries in the RSAcat system.
