The Black Hawk College Police Department is committed to excellence in service through College wide involvement. Together, our partnership will develop a sense of College pride and an atmosphere intolerant of crime on our campus.
Illinois Compiled Statutes, Public Community College Act Chapter 110, Act 805, Sec. 42.1
“(b) members of the community college district police department, or department of public safety, who are law enforcement officers as defined in the Illinois Police Training Act, shall be peace officers under the laws of this State. As such, law enforcement officer members of these departments shall have all of the powers of police officers in cities and sheriffs in counties, including the power to make arrests on view or on warrants for violations of State statutes and to enforce county or city ordinances in all counties that lie within the community college district, when such is required for the protection of community college personnel, students, property or interests.” Zero Tolerance
