Support Programs

Access to Education and Employment (AEE)
Provides support services to assist individuals who wish to further their education or employment. Career and Academic Advisors are on hand for the following individuals who are enrolled in Adult Education, individuals who are unemployed or underemployed and experiencing difficulty in obtaining suitable employment; individuals enrolled in or interested enrolling in Black Hawk College career and technical programs, or those individuals seeking a career in a nontraditional field (a nontraditional career field is one where 25% or less of the workers are male or 25% or less are women). Eligible participants: displaced homemakers, (divorced, separated, widowed, or have in some way lost the supportive income of a spouse); Adult Education/GED/Vocational Skills students; single parents enrolled or interested in enrolling in college career and technical programs. Early School Leaver Program
The Early School Leaver Program serves 16 to 21 year olds who are attending Optional Education high school credit or GED classes, and are interested in exploring employment and further education options. A full range of career services is offered. Call 796-4852 for more information.

Team Program
The Training for Employment and Academic Mastery [TEAM] program is a Workforce Investment Act initiative designed to help qualified youth complete their basic education and successfully transition to work or postsecondary training. In addition to academic training, the program specializes in resume building, career exploration, workforce preparation, occupational and soft-skill training, and individualized counseling to address character development. TEAM is available at all Adult Education facilities managed by Black Hawk College in Rock Island County.

Transportation
Bus tickets are available to students who receive Public Assistance, are unemployed or underemployed (determined by income). To request bus tickets, contact the Intake and Assessment Specialist at the class Site Location.

Child Care
The Community Child Care Resource and Referral Center (563) 324-1302 can also assist in locating childcare services for daytime or evening classes.

Handicap Accessibility
