Livestock Judging Team
Black Hawk College – East Campus
Anyone who attends BHC and is currently enrolled in at least 12 credit hours can be eligible to participate on the Livestock Judging Team. Designation of a specific major or degree plan is not required. The collegiate judging season runs from January to December. Although judging workouts begin in September of their freshmen year, members of the team start judging competitively their freshmen year, spring semester.

During the fall semester, students tend to miss about one week of classes because of National Barrow Show, World Beef Expo, the Stockman, American Royal, National Western Stock Show and NAILE. In the spring semester, students will miss approximately two weeks of classes because of San Antonio, Houston, and NACTA.
- Travel Expense
Black Hawk College will cover most of the expenses of traveling. Students will be responsible for paying for their meals. An estimated cost per day for spending money and food is about $20.
- Scholarships
There are numerous Livestock Judging Scholarship available as well as other scholarships that are intended for Livestock Judging team members. We also accept any outside scholarships as well.
