Prescription for a Healthy Lifestyle & Stress Management
The best prescription for alleviating stress – enroll in this 10-hour class! Move toward greater balance, control and participation in your life. Intended for the layperson or health practitioner, you will learn healthy coping skills for managing stressors in your life, and the importance of self-awareness and self-care. Adapt to a better, healthier way of living NOW! The instructors will guide you as they are skilled at creating a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment.
A certificate of completion will be awarded for successful completion of all classes. Classes are arranged as a series, therefore cannot be taken individually.

The educational experience is for balance, relaxation, moments of reflection and to experience overall well-being. The classes do not claim to treat, diagnose or prescribe. They are not a substitute for medical care.

Instructor: Dr. J. Newhouse
Learn how you can turn your body into a fat burning machine in just twelve minutes a week with this simple approach to exercising. Participants will learn the physiological reasons why less is more and how they can integrate their favorite activities into fat-burning workouts! Allow this revolutionary
discovery to change your life and help you reach your goals to a lean, fit you!

Prepare to Battle Stress: Fight Back with Alternative Methods
Instructor: S. Adamson, CR, LMT, LC, LE, NCBTMB
You fill your life with many activities and it is difficult to get the balance between those activities right. By getting the balance right, you are in harmony with yourself and your world. Learn alternative methods to relaxation as Stephanie guides you through various modalities including, massage therapy, reflexology and breathing exercises.

Emergency: Laughter Therapy

Laughter is a priceless medicine that is fun, free and easy to use. Laugh your heart out as you explore the powerful antidote that benefits your physical, mental and social well being. Laughter triggers healthy physical changes in your body and it strengthens your immune system, boosts your energy, diminishes pain, and relieves conflict. Laughter is good for your health as it relaxes the whole body, eases anxiety and fear, triggers the release of endorphins, and protects the heart from disease.

Food & Mood – Nutritional Healing
Instructor: J. Macon, MS, RD, LD
Which came first, the food or the mood? We eat in response to stress, joy, exhaustion, boredom and other emotions. In turn, the foods we choose also may affect how we feel. In this class, we will explore the relationship between diet and emotions. Learn how to identify and manage emotional eating, and to choose foods that will satisfy your stomach as well as your soul.

Managing Your Stress Physically, Mentally, and Emotionally
Instructor: C. Green, MS, LCPC, NCC
Everyone experiences stress in their lives, it is unavoidable. However, your response to it can cause you to be distressed and unhealthy. Learn how to manage your stress using a variety of techniques. You will learn how to take control over how you handle stress by making good choices. Learn about the positive stress, “Eustress.”
