DraculauraBlack Hawk College wraps up its Women’s History Month offerings with the lecture, “Pink and Sexy: Whatever Happened to Child’s Play?” by Krisann Bergo Brown, assistant professor of sociology, at noon Friday, March 28 in Building 1, Room 306 (theatre).

Today’s pink or blue toy aisles show a major division in “boy” and “girl” play.  From Candy Land to Strawberry Shortcake — the play options for little girls have progressively become pinker, sexier and more limiting. This talk will explore messages about gender and sexuality present in today’s playtime.

The public is welcome. Light refreshments will be served.

Look for more presentations by faculty members throughout March.
