Students on campusBlack Hawk College is a comprehensive community college with two campuses. The East Campus in Kewanee, Illinois, is located on a beautiful 102-acre, rolling hill site in Henry County . The campus serves nearly 800 college credit students each semester mostly from Henry and surrounding counties, but certain programs draw students from throughout the Midwest and the nation.East Campus provides quality education programs for career preparation and transfer to 4-year institutions in a variety of areas such as agriculture, equine science, automotive & ag mechanics, business, computer technology, health care and nursing, horticulture, science, and others in the Applied Sciences and Liberal Arts & Sciences departments. Highlights of the campus include:
  • Illinois’ largest Agriculture Transfer Program – more students transfer from our Ag program into 4-year degree programs than from any other Ag program in the state.
  • Consistently award-winning crops & soils judging, horse judging, horse show team and livestock judging teams.

  • The Agriculture Center with 69 horse stalls, classroom space, offices, and a 100’ x 250’ indoor arena for workouts, judging contests, equipment demonstrations, auctions, etc.
  • Dual enrollment credit for area high school students – high school students are eligible to enroll in courses offered at the East Campus or in their dual credit classes.
  • Automotive Technology and Agriculture Mechanics programs supported by a complete automotive lab.
