Coach McCullum is entering his 20th season as a Head Coach in the NJCAA with a career record of 391-218. He begins his 3rd season at the East Campus of Black Hawk College as the Men’s Basketball Coach after stops at Spoon River College and Lincoln College. Currently, he is 30-31 at Black Hawk College after an 18-12 campaign and second place finish in the Arrowhead Conference a year ago.
Coach McCullum also serves as Assistant Dean for East Campus.
He will be assisted this year by coaches Tyler Paxson and Howard “Sarge” Minjin.
Coach Tyler Paxson is a 2012 Graduate of Missouri State University and was a standout high school athlete at Stark County High and then Black Hawk College Quad-Cities Campus. Transferring to Missouri State, he was a two-year letter winner in baseball. This is Coach Paxson’s first year as an Assistant Coach at the NJCAA level.
Coach Howard “Sarge” Minjin played high school basketball in New Jersey before joining the United States Army. While in the military, Coach Minjin became a First Sergeant in the United States Army Rangers. Retiring after 24 years, he begins his first season at Black Hawk College after assisting at Annawan High School last season.
