Dear Ag Alumni,
It is hard to believe that harvest 2014 is in the books! Your ABCA Board of Directors have been diligently working this year to help encourage both current students and alumni to learn more and have better opportunities to engage with Black Hawk East College Agriculture’s events and accomplishments throughout the year. We are doing this by keeping this website current and also we now have a Facebook page! Like us on FaceBook “BHC East Aggie Alumni”!
We are quickly approaching our 42nd annual banquet to be held on Saturday January 24th, 2015 at the Kewanee Dunes. This will be our third year hosting the banquet at the Kewanee Dunes. We raised over $5,000 dollars to go toward faculty grant requests for the Ag Programs. This includes Horticulture, Livestock, Equine, Production, Ag Transfer, Business, and the judging and show teams. We were also very proud to help raise awareness and funds contributed to the Dan Hoge Livestock Judging Scholarship! Our auction produced more than $1,000 to contribute in Dan’s honor for the BHE Wall of Fame induction with the East Campus Foundation.
If you have any suggestions or ideas to help improve our organization, web site, or Facebook page please feel free to contact myself or one of the Board members. Also if you or any Ag Alumni that you know of that would be interested in becoming or contributing to the leadership of your Agri-Business Club Alumni, don’t hesitate to reach out!
Like you, we are very proud to be apart of this “little” campus on the hill. Help us promote the #1 Community College Agriculture Programs in the nation and give back so that future students have an opportunity to succeed with Agriculture here too!
