Adult Education ESL

Qualifications
For residents of the College district who are non-English-speaking adults, 17 years of age or older. Sixteen year old students may enroll with parental and secondary school district permission.

Students develop English language skills to:

  • Participate in American society
  • Enter employment
  • Advance in the workplace
  • Enroll in a training program or theĀ Academic ESL Program
  • Be successful in the citizenship process

ESL Program Levels of Instruction
Levels help non-English speaking students build and attain language skills using an integrated approach to learning. The skills of listening, speaking, grammar, reading and writing skills are taught, as well as general aspects of American culture and civics. New students are tested to ensure placement accuracy.

  • Basic: Very Low Beginning
  • Level One: Low Beginning
  • Level Two: High Beginning
  • Level Three: Low Intermediate
  • Level Four: Intermediate
  • Level Five: ABE/Pre-GED for ESL Learners

Cost
Qualifying students attend classes without cost.
