1. Apply for admission
Complete the application for admission. Send high school/GED and/or college transcripts.
2. Check out financing options
Visit our financial aid web pages for information on several sources of aid available and complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Complete an application for a Black Hawk Foundation Scholarship and view several scholarship opportunities.
3. Take the placement test
If you’re enrolling in six or more college credit hours (two classes or more), you must complete the COMPASS placement test. View the COMPASS testing schedule and make your appointment by calling the Quad-Cities Campus at 309-796-5352 or the East Campus at 309-854-1703.
4. Meet an advisor
Meet with an academic advisor. Make your appointment by contacting the Quad-Cities Campus Advising Center at 309-796-5100 (advqc@bhc.edu) or the East Campus Advising Center at 309-854-1709 (kunzp@bhc.edu).
5. Go to orientation
Get introduced to Black Hawk College during one or more of our orientation opportunities. Call 309-796-5000 for more information. Tours at East Campus are by appointment only. Call 309-854-1724 to schedule an East Campus tour.
6. Register and pay for classes
Register for classes through your myBlackHawk account. Visit our tuition & fees web pages to view several payment options and due dates.
7. Get your BHC Student ID.
