What is myBlackHawk and why do I need to access it first?
Black Hawk College’s portal is called “myBlackHawk.” It is the one-stop location for you to:
- check your BHC e-mail
- register for courses
- access the Web site for each of your classes
- read college and personal announcements (from instructors)
- access your course schedule and transcript
- pay your college bills
- perform other college transactions.
Note: When you enroll as a new student at BHC, you will be issued a login for myBlackHawk.
Try logging into myBlackHawk now (or request your login username and password if you have lost yours). If this is new to you, view our login tutorial first. As desired, view myBlackHawk tutorials for doing other tasks.
How and when do I login to my online class?
Before the first day of the semester, your instructor will email all of the students in your class about when and how to access the course site. Most online classes use WebCT. To access any WebCT class, click on the name of your course in the My Courses channel of myBlackHawk. The email from your instructor will tell you when the class site will be available, usually the first day of the semester.
If your course does not use WebCT, the instructor’s email will tell you how and when to access the course. If you do not hear from your instructor by the first day of the semester, consult the Online Learning Center about how to contact your instructor for your classes.
Will I need textbooks for my online course?
Almost all online classes at Black Hawk College require textbooks. Textbooks can be ordered online, charged to your Visa or MasterCard, and shipped to your home or office. If you will be purchasing your books with Financial Aid dollars, you will be instructed by the Financial Aid office about how and when to purchase your books. Contact the bookstore if you have further questions by calling 309-796-5500 or 800-334-1311, ext. 5500.
